Who is Coco?

For anyone who follows me you'll know Coco is not my real name.  Not that I need any sort of anonymity to my identity, but with the over exposure of social media, I am Coco on my blog.  Where did Coco come from?  Well there are two stories behind my web identity.

The first story comes by the way of a very precocious 6 year old boy who will remain nameless.  This young boy came across my path at an event and had a an arsenal of questions for me who at the time was very much a stranger.  I tried as much as possible to answer all of his questions but could not shake his curiosity. If you can read between the lines I was only have participating in the conversation as he did most of the talking.  After what seemed like a lifetime he asked me an easy question: What's your name?  Being sarcastic with him (which you should never do with a small child) I said "You can call me whatever you want".    He looked at me and considered his options and said with a huge smile "I will call you Coco".  Everyone around me got a kick out of it, so to him I became Coco.

Story number 2; while in Spain anyone I introduced myself to (who did not speak English) couldn't quite pronunciate the double l's in my name.  My friend tried to help with the pronunciation and referenced Coco Chanel, easy enough right, not really so I became Coco to them too.  Just like that, the once pet name from a curious kid, has stuck.

I am Coco--a mid-30s woman who is learning to live life, enjoy life, not take herself too seriously and appreciate everyday I have on this earth.
